Cosmic Lips Feat. Organdie Lamé by & Other Stories... - Swatch & Review

So I was bored after school the other day and started playing around with my lipsticks. I started off by slapping on some of Portland Black Lipstick Co.'s Black. I then glazed over my lipglosses to find something interesting to layer over the black and this happened.

I had the chance to visit & Other Stories' flagship store while I was in London. I loved their cosmetics range and ended up getting two blushes(reviews soooon) and this lipgloss in Orandie Lamé. I was initially drawn to it because it was on sale and in case you don't already know, I have a thing for purples.

As with everything from the minimalist heaven that is & Other Stories, the packaging is really nice and sleek. Nothing too fancy, and it doesn't feel cheap. It has a long-ish flat applicator that's pretty nice.

On it's own Organdie Lamé is rather soft and pretty. It gives your lips a slight purple tinge and is very sparkly. It's great for toned down looks and adds a little interest to your look with the bluish glitter.

But layer it over black and you have something else altogether. I'm not too big on fully glossed lips so I don't think I'd ever wear this out but it will be great for photoshoots or artsy makeup looks. When layered, you can see more of the duochrome shift which is beautiful.

I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading all the way through(if you did)!

Not-So-Poisonous Plum - FOTD

I've been rather busy with school lately so this post won't be awfully special. In this post, I'm going to share with you one of my favourite ways to wear Sugarpill's Poison Plum for a more toned down and time friendly look.

So what I do is basically blend a small amount of poison plum into my crease. That's basically it. I love how is adds a little pop of colour and adds definition to my crease.

Products used:
Maybelline BB White - Fresh & Natural (1 : 2 ratio)
Hard Candy Glamouflage Concealer - Medium
Cyber Colors 24hr Eyebrow duo - Brown
Rimmel Stay Matt Pressed Powder - Transparent
Coastal Scents Shadow Worx Primer
Sugarpill - Poison Plum
Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner - Black
Revlon Colorstay Gel Liner - Brown
Lashblast by Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara - Black
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream - Amsterdam (applied in the middle and blended out)

I hope you enjoyed this very short post. I promise something more exciting next week! (more lip swatches, anyone?)

Illamasqua Lipsticks in Kontrol and Disciple - Swatches & Review

I got these babies on a recent trip to London. They're my first Illamasqua products so I was really excited. Knowing and loving Illamasqua's knack for the theatrical, I had to buy unnatural shades to have the honour of being my first products.

Being a hoarder and fangirl, I naturally had to keep the boxes.

I like how sleek the packaging is. The caps are nice and secure and overall they don't feel cheap.

Kontrol, being a purple, has been on my wishlist for very long so I'm really glad I have it. It's a blue-based purple that leans slightly grayish.

It applies on smoothly and isn't patchy at all. It has a satin finish and doesn't dry out my lips. I wish the wear time was better, though. It fades pretty easily especially in the center of my lips. This is currently my second favorite purple lipstick, Mac's Heroine being number 1.

Here's a full-face shot to help you get a better idea of what it looks like when worn. It looks great on my NC30ish skintone. ((and matches my violet contacts)) It's quite a bold colour but yet somehow wearable if you ask me.

Disciple looks almost black in tube form but trust me, it is anything but.

It has so much depth once applied. I am so in love with this colour. It's very dry and can be a little difficult to apply but nothing too bad. It doesn't feel dry once applied which is nice. The colour is amazing though. It's quite out there, but I feel like I could wear this to school.

I love how Disciple looks on me but I guess I'm not 100% used to the stares yet. But don't worry, I love this guy too much to let him collect dust on my vanity. It's one of those colours you'd brave through a difficult formula for.

All in all, everyone needs Illamasqua in their lives. I hope you enjoyed reading this and found it helpful!

Harley Quinn - Halloween FOTD

This year for Halloween I decided to be Harley Quinn. I've been wanting to play tribute to my favourite comic book character for ages and this Halloween seemed like a good chance to do so. I'll admit that my costume wasn't exactly the best and neither are the pictures I took, but it looked great in person and I felt badass as hell.

My makeup started off pretty simple, a red and black smokey eye with red contour and a bold red lip. This however changed throughout the day as my makeup got smudgier and the overall look got more grungy.

Products used:
Maybelline BB White - Fresh mixed with
Skin 79 Super BB - Hot pink
Hard Candy Glamouflage Concealer - Medium
Nyx Mosaic Powder - Latte
& Other Stories Powder Blush - Oldham Red
Cyber Colors 24hr Eyebrow duo - Brown
Rimmel Stay Matt Pressed Powder - Transparent
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Maybelline Color Tattoo - Audacious Asphalt
Tamanala Red pigment mixed with
Kiko Mixing Solution
Sephora black eyeshadow
Sugarpill - Love+
Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner - Black
Lashblast by Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara - Black
Brandless half-lash falsies
Sephora Cream Lip Stain - 01

I added a point on my upper lid and I also drew on a smile. They added more character and I really liked how it looked. This is how most people saw me too because they were added pretty early on. I don't have a great picture though because the lighting in my room sucks at night.

No Halloween post is complete without a costume so here's mine. I got my Harley Quinn hoodie from ThinkGeek.com and I am so in love.

Also, my Primark boots are to die for. I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading! Hope you had a good Halloween!
